We all miss Peggy Carter. Whether it’s because in current MCU continuity she’s left us, or simply that Agent Carter is no longer airing, the SSR’s finest left a hole in our hearts. Having Hayley Atwell return, albeit briefly, to voice the beloved character in the Avengers cartoon series at least temporarily fills it. Especially considering she gets to beat people up, too.
This clip marking Peggy’s return to screens—announced over a year ago—comes from the upcoming episode “New Year’s Resolution,” which sees Captain America and Iron Man sent back in time to team up with Peggy and Howard Stark to protect the timeline from the evil Kang the Conqueror. Kang, as it turns out, is not so conquering when Peggy has Cap’s vibranium shield.
It’s so good to hear Atwell back in action, even if chances to see her again in future live-action ventures grow slimmer the further we move away from Agent Carter’s twilight (though our fingers are crossed for her to play a role in Captain Marvel). Avengers: Secret Wars’ Peggy-packed episode will air this Sunday, December 3.
