Well, well, well, New Mexico. Who knew you were so full of love? Turns out, your state ranks number one in the entire country for duration of sex with a 'whopping' 7 minutes and 1 second average. Go have some fun because according to this map, you're the clear winner. As for the state that has the shortest sex session? That would be Alaska at a brisk 1:21. Get busy, guys.
Nerve teamed up with Spreadsheets, a sex activity app that monitors data from movement and audio levels using your phone's accelerometer and microphone, to figure out the average sex duration for each state. The app measures more than that too, like thrusts per minute, decibel peak, frequency and so forth. For those who love to put a number to everything in your life, getting stats on your sex life could fulfill your dream.
The duration stats come from 10,000 early adopters of the app (so obviously small sample size) and doesn't cover foreplay (so not the whole dance) but gives you a general gist of bonage time. New Mexico is so far ahead of everyone else that if you subtracted Alaska's sex time from New Mexico, they'd still be the state that had the longest sex.
