When this happened in Kansas in broad daylight, people gathered along the road to watch in awe what they thought could be a UFO transported by the military. Yesterday evening the same scene caused a frenzy in Washington DC’s highways.

Traffic jams were reported by motorists on the Beltway and the I-270 in Maryland, who snapped photos of the alien-looking drone.

Like in Kansas, it was just an X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System, a drone designed to operate from aircraft carriers. Northrop Grumman has confirmed they were shipping the lethal wing to the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. There it will be tested on an airstrip designed as a carrier runway.

Hey, people of Amercia! If the military were moving alien spaceships from place to place, they would never ever do it moving them in plain sight, on top of a truck, barely covered with a cloth, ok? [Twitter, Twitter, Twitter via Washington Post]
