Enjoying Shark Week, are we? If you’ve been admiring the slow-mo camera work and wondering just how they manage it, here’s the $118,000 answer: Phantom Gold. No, that’s not a condom brand, it’s a a limited-edition pro-cam.
Apparently Shark Week is well-suited to the Phantom Gold because it shoots the full HD footage at adjustable frame rates of up to 1000fps using a 1/500,000 shutter speed. Unfortunately just 150 of the cameras exist, but then I guess not everyone can spend their days shooting the snapping jaws of sharks in shows like Air Jaws 2, below.
