Deron Williams, NBA point guard and savior of ironic sport liking, just inked a new contract to stay with the Brooklyn Nets. Well, inked is the wrong word as Williams actually signed his 5 year $98 million contract on an iPad. With his finger.

This is what Williams, who’s in Vegas for Team USA Basketball training, had to say about signing his deal on Twitter (the guy is just all technology friendly!):

I wonder if Williams specifically wanted to sign his deal on an iPad over a stack of papers or if that’s just how $100 million contracts are signed these days. I wonder if he gets to keep the iPad. I wonder if he thinks the rumored iPad mini or a Nexus 7 or a Kindle Fire would be just as good for contract signing. Also, taking a look at his signature on the iPad, I’d have to say he did a pretty good job with just his finger. Who needs a stylus, right? [@DeronWilliams]

Update: For those curious, Deron Williams apparently used the free app Sign Now to sign his iPad contract with a lot of zeros. [@darrenrovell]
