The Mark Hurd saga has taken a not-unpleasant turn: the suit that his former employer, HP, leveled at his new employer, Oracle, has been resolved. Hurd has apparently agreed to waive half his separation compensation in the settlement.

HP initially filed the suit in the interest of protecting their trade secrets, after it had been announced that Hurd would join Oracle as co-president. But the companies are playing nice again; HP’s interim CEO Cathie A. Lesjak said that “H.P. and Oracle have been important partners for more than 20 years and are committed to working together to provide exceptional products and service to our customers. We look forward to collaborating with Oracle in the future.” [NYT]
