I Could Spend All Day Watching This Thing Making Chairs

There’s something magical about this video. I think it’s because of the slow pace in which the giant computer-controlled arm carefully places layer after layer of gooey plastic to create furniture. It’s like an endless cream sandwich. It makes me hungry.

The robotic arm, controlled by Dirk Vander Koolj, uses a plastic gun to place the hot plastic mash in 3D space. The plastic—recycled from old fridges—slowly makes the chair grow while little elves play nimble music and infuse love waves in it.

I know you can’t see that now, but you didn’t believe on organisms made of arsenic, and look what happened! [Golan via Makezine]
