If you’ve had a dream about a shockingly in-shape Frankenstein’s monster with Wolverine’s personality who wields ridiculous blades when fighting a legion of evil gargoyles while things constantly explode, congratulations! I, Frankentsein is the movie of your dreams. Everyone else: Holy shit this looks insane.
As Charlie Jane said in her review of this very trailer from Comic-Con, it’s next year’s Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters — the only difference being that I, Frankenstein’s characters clearly aren’t in on the joke like Hansel & Gretel were (I have to imagine the actors realize the movie they’re in is completely absurd, however). Honestly, that could make it better or worse, either way. We’ll find out when I, Frankenstein premieres on January 14th.
