One of the best parts of growing up in the 1980s were the awesome action-packed commercials for G.I. Joe toys. They featured kids actually playing with the vehicles and figures, re-enacting scenes of heroism as the Joes battled Cobra. The folks at Movieclips clearly enjoyed those ads too, as they were inspired to make a modern version using one of the trailers for the recently released G.I. Joe sequel.
Ironically, there are collectible action figures these days that look identical to the characters seen in a movie so this isn’t that far off from the truth. But something tells us those working machine guns and missile launchers probably won’t pass toy safety standards. [YouTube via Topless Robot]
