If This Orchestral Version of the ’60s Spider-Man Theme Isn’t in Homecoming, It Goddamn Should Be

Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Homecoming composer Michael Giacchino (Up) just put up a lovely 30-second video on Twitter of the orchestra currently recording the score to the film. They’re playing a wonderful arrangement of the classic theme song from the ‘70s Spider-Man cartoon, and it’s so good we can’t stop listening to it:

The question, however, is did Giacchino record and post that just for fun? Or is it in the movie at some point? Other Spider-Man movie directors have used it, but only in the credits.

We obviously don’t know. It probably is but if it’s not in the movie, it damned well should be. It’s simply too good not to.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7.

*Correction: The article originally said the theme was from the ‘70s.
