Last year we broke the news that Hollywood was looking to possibly make a glasses-less They Live remake. Horrifying, we know! But if it looks anything like this short, Imaginary Forces, we could be persuaded. Watch now!

Imaginary Forces

Check out the They Live-esque short from director Ruairi Robinson, who almost ended up directing the Akira movie. The whole video has us wondering, could they ever remake the Carpenter film They Live without the glasses? And if they nixed the infamous shades, would it really even be They Live anymore? A thousand thank-yous to Twitch Film for pointing out this little gem.

Dimensions

Next up is this interesting scifi indie that mashes up two of our favorite genres: time travel and period pieces! We're going to keep our eye on this intriguing feature by directorial pair Ant Neely and Sloane.

Stephen is a brilliant young boy who lives in Cambridge, England, in what appears to be the 1920s – but nothing in Stephen's life is quite as it seems. His world is turned upside down upon meeting a charismatic and inspirational professor at a garden party who demonstrates to Stephen and his friends what life would be like if they themselves were merely one, or two, dimensional beings. He then proceeds to explain that by manipulating other dimensions, time travel may actually be possible.

As Stephen's life unfolds, events lead him to dedicate himself to turning the Professor's theories of time travel into reality. Jealousy, love, obsession, temptation and greed surround him, influencing his fragile mind and the direction of his work.
