The hit detection is off, and I’m not entirely sure how much more accurate the final product will end up being compared to the demo, but even so the air drummer in me still took notice of Gyro Air Drums.
As a native iPhone 4 app, Gyro Air Dums does what the name implies: It takes advantage of the device’s newly added gyroscope so air drummers can move the phone around to hit high hats and snare drums as they would with a real live drum kit. There’s even a rubber duck that sneaks in there toward the end:
The sensitivity seems a bit off, especially when reaching up for the cymbals, but since this is a demo we’ll give them the benefit of working things out before launch. [YouTube]
