Dark Horse Comics just sent us some sneak peeks of their May comic line-up. Here's a first look at Axe Cop brandishing his favorite chopping tool and a sword-wielding Conan the Barbarian drawn by Transmetropolitan artist Darick Robertson.
This is the cover for Axe Cop: Bad Guy Earth #3 by 6-year-old Malachai Nicolle and his 29-year-old illustrator brother Ethan. (If you're unfamiliar with Axe Cop, here's the lowdown.) This final issue of the miniseries hits stands May:
Just when you thought the ground-breaking hit comic Axe Cop couldn't get more awesome, it gets MORE AWESOME! Axe Cop is in big trouble! The authorities are on his case, he's on a crazy time-travel mission to try to save the dinosaurs from a horrible war with aliens, and while he's been away, a team of evil brothers has been assembling a massive team of bad guys bent on taking over the earth! But with the help of his awesome crime-fighting team, including Dinosaur Soldier, Sockarang, and the mighty doggie hero Ralph Wrinkles, Axe Cop might still be able to save the planet. But there's one more battle for our brave axe man in blue, and he must time-travel to the age of swords to make it all happen!
And here's Darick Robertson's cover for the fourth and final issue of King Conan: The Scarlet Citadel. It features Tim Truman on script, pencils by Tomás Giorello, colors by José Villarrubia, and cover colors by Richard Clark. It's out May 25, and here's Dark Horse's solicit info:
Conan goes against his ingrained Cimmerian instincts and sides with Pelias the wizard, who can help the dethroned barbarian exact revenge on those who took his crown and chained him in the horrific dungeons beneath the mysterious Scarlet Citadel! Timothy Truman, Tomás Giorello, and José Villarrubia bring Dark Horse's first King Conan miniseries to its gory conclusion. With the help of Pelias's powers and one very strange flying creature, Conan races to Aquilonia to regain his throne! With covers by fan-favorite Darick Robertson, this fast-paced, standalone miniseries is a great introduction to Howard's tales of the great King Conan!
