An Instagram update that’s hitting today will add new more sophisticated tools to let you adjust 10 tools via sliders, including brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth and other parameters. You’ll also be able to adjust the strength of the preset filters you apply

As you can see in the image above they’re all adjustable on gradients. Asa collection, the tools should give you much broader control over how your final photos look.
The simplicity of Instagram is why the photo sharing service is so successful, but the niche popularity of apps like Camera+ and VSCO Cam suggests that there is definitely a market for more sophisticated photo editing—especially given how broadly smartphone cameras are used.
