In an analyst meeting slated for Friday, Intel will be demonstrating a completely functional quad-core processor. This chip, named the Cloverton, isn t expected to be on the market until late 2006—if not 2007. Intel is dead-set on beating AMD in the quad-core race. AMD has already shown off some quad-core processors behind closed doors, but Intel’s showing will be the first semi-public demonstration.
