Gizmodo is giving away a 30GB iPod video player to the person who builds the best shrine devoted to it. We first posed the challenge last week, and since then plenty of readers sent in Photoshop fantasies like the Meccapple Store (you can see it, and then declare your fatwa on Gizmodo, after the jump).

Much as we enjoyed seeing Meccapple and the iPod at the center of Michelangelo’s Creation, those simply do not qualify. Remember, a shrine is “a container, usually in precious materials, especially for a relic, and/or holy or sacred place containing the same…” The idea is for you, dear readers, to build the shrine that this lovely iPod video will live in after you win. But don’t fret, you have until November 28 to build a proper home.

Entries must be accompanied by a photograph in JPG format 72 dpi, max 400 pixels on the top side, please NO HUGE PHOTOS OR WE WILL CRY (download Gimp if you don t have a good photo editor along with two or three sentences describing the devotional, its symbology and what makes it sacred. Send entries to [email protected] with IPOD SHRINE in the subject line. Repeat: Entries must be sent to [email protected] with the subject line IPOD SHRINE, all others will be unceremoniously deleted.

Sample entries follow…
