I don’t know how many vampire movies Iran has previously birthed, but A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (which, man, what a fantastic title) bills itself as Iran’s first Vampire Western, so I assume there are others. Watching this trailer, I have a hard time imagining how they could possibly compare.
I have to echo The Dissolve here — you can literally see the individual cinematic influences at work here, but the whole feels wonderfully unique. The film will get a limited release in America beginning on November 21st (NYC and LA, obviously); check out the official website here for more details.
