Star Wars

Let's open up another can of Star Wars rumors for today. First, we have a rumor from the Star Wars 7 News message boards detailing a new cantina scene:

Daisy arrives to Cantina in search of Han or Luke I believe. She is confronted by an alien, she lifts her blaster to him, he then takes it from her hand "Don't point a blaster at someone if you are not going to use it" and points it at her. At this point Chewie (With arm Bandaged/In a Sling) intimidates the alien, "What good is a one armed wookie" Chewie then rips the guys arm off and hands the blaster back to Daisy. Ford was not present at filming this, BUT……….

Cut to the outside of the Cantina as a Planet/Moon is blown up outside, Han is present here (Wearing a thin cut, waist length leather jacket, boots etc, a "Matching outfit") oh and he still has his blaster :) I don't know if he has just arrived to meet up with Daisy and Chewie, but he is cutting through the crowd of onlookers as everyone is witnessing the destruction of "Whatever" was blown up in the sky.

Note, not 100% sure if Boyega was in the scene but he was present, wearing "Rags" or "Untidy" Clothes.

The other rumor is a twist on the old "Luke Skywalker is missing" plot point. This time, Jedi News claims that he's not "missing" so much as "sought out" by the younger characters. They seek out his help when they realize they are severely outmatched in their attempts to take out whoever the main villain is (the Empire? The Sith? Some combination?). [ Jedi News via Slashfilm]

Batman v. Superman

New set photos show a group of people protesting Superman's presence on Earth, which lines up with the rumors we've already heard that the film takes place in a world that's angry about the destruction that took place in Man of Steel. [Cinema Blend]

Ben Affleck revealed that the Batsuit he's been wearing costs a small fortune:

I asked them, 'So, how about maybe taking the suit home at the end of this thing? They were like, 'For $100,000 we could!'

He also commented on the pressure of the other superheroes in the world:

Audiences have an increasing expectation. You see guys like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans and all these guys whose bodies are just like, you think, 'How is that even possible?!' So, exercising is as much of the job now in some ways as the rest of it.

We continue to wonder whether the Ranson Gillis House in Detroit is standing in for Wayne Manor. Here are some photos from the construction going on there. [ Mlive]

Adrianne Palicki will be playing Mockingbird in Agents of SHIELD, and now she's hinting that the character could make the transition to the big screen:

Absolutely – [joining the Avengers] was one of the things that was discussed when I was coming on for the part, and you know, we'll see what happens. It's such a nice world that we live in that crossover can happen so often now which in the past it never really did so, to see these worlds come together on the small screen and the big screen is really cool.

And Robery Downey Jr. gave the briefest of hints into what's in store for Tony Stark:

I'm sure we'll ride that thing. You've got to surf that all the way in to shore.

... I think I was at the forefront of something that was coming into being, and I think it has carried me as much as I have informed it. That's the healthy way to look at it. It's so easy to become inflated by the successes, but what they really are are long, strong trends. It's just another wave.

Star Trek

John Cho answered a question about whether the current cast could be done with this series after three movies, saying that they're only under contract for a trilogy. And he hints that if one or more castmembers decided not to come back, the whole crew would probably be recast:

The reason I hesitate is just wondering if we could get everyone. It seems to be an all or nothing proposition. I want to say, for me, sure, let's do another. I enjoy that group. I enjoy what Star Trek films do in general and say in general. And I will say one of the pleasures of having been in Star Trek movies has been seeing what effect they have in society, like astronauts saying, "I kind of got into this line of work because my imagination was sparked from watching 'Star Trek.'" That is very cool. What I'm trying to say is, I just stand by that product. [But] getting a whole cast together, that's tough.

I understand, if one of the cast is unavailable, there's no point having most of you and recasting one role.

I would have to think about that. I guess you'd have to see when you got there, but I would like to keep it all together.

Doctor Strange

Okay, Marvel has got to cast this role soon. Because now rumors have it that Ethan Hawke accepted the role of Doctor Strange over the weekend, with contract negotiations currently ongoing. Marvel is reportedly hoping for a six-movie deal to be made. [This Is Infamous]

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials

Rosa Salazar has been cast as Brenda, the lone female running aground with another group of children who ends up on the run in the tunnels below the city with Dylan O'Brien's character. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Also joining the cast is Jacob Lofland (Mud) who will play Aris Jones, whom the Gladers meet and then discover has a connection to the maze and the people who made it. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Indiana Jones 5

An article on cinematographers has a short description of frequent Steven Spielberg collaborator Janusz Kaminski that claims that he's working on the next Indiana Jones film. This also seems to say that there is another Indiana Jones in the works and that it's gearing up for production:

Since then, Kaminski has made more than a dozen films with Steven Spielberg, earning two Oscars along the way. His credits include "Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan" and "The Diving Bell & the Butterfly." His next project is the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie.

The Vampire Diaries

Nina Dobrev explained how this season will show Elena's relationship with her brother Jeremy:

He's in Mystic Falls and he's going through his own grieving, so they're still in touch, but he's shutting her out a little bit and going through his own process. And she can't really be there for him all that much. There's only so much she can do from where she is and she's in her own world. She's trying, but there definitely is a bit of a disconnect between them.

As for Damon, he's not in a good place when the season begins:

He's pissed off. They're stuck in a place they don't want to be, and Damon's fiercely loyal. He feels the need to get back to his family. They're trying everything. They're Scooby-Doo-ing that sh– like crazy.

Elena will make a shocking discovery about Caroline by the end of the premiere that will complicate the two's relationship. And, according to Dobrev, this season will also see Elena try to shape up in school:

She tries to immerse herself in school and create a new life [there] with new friends. I haven't really had to do any class scenes... so I'm having to learn and familiarize myself with a lot of terms and concepts and doctor-type verbiage.

Elena will also turn to Luke to cope with her loss and we'll see Elena's life without the Salvatores. [TV Guide]

Agents of SHIELD

Joining the cast in episode 2.06, "A Fractured House" will be Tim DeKay (White Collar) as Sen. Christian Ward, Grant's abusive older brother. [Zap2It]

Brett Dalton explained what this season's arc is for Ward:

The question is, 'Who is Grant Ward without Agent Garrett, without somebody ordering him around?' He's created kind of in Garrett's image and now that Garrett's not there, he has to really decide who he is and what he wants.

The Walking Dead

Lauren Cohan talked about where Maggie is by season five:

I feel like in the beginning we always knew that Maggie was a physically strong person. She's a farm girl. She would have been doing work on the farm. But where we've gotten to by season 5 now is that she is so dependent on that physical strength. Like that's all she is, almost. They live a pretty barbaric life. She's definitely still a sensitive vulnerable person, but I feel like we're kind of all animals now.

A photo with Andrew Lincoln with a haircut and no beard has led to speculation that the show has reached the point from the comic where Rick and the others reach the Alexandria safe zone, an area near D.C. that is virtually untouched by the zombie apocalypse. [SpoilerTV]

Person of Interest

Entertainment Weekly has a tour of the team's new base, including some tidbits on how the new HQ will play into the plot. Says EP Greg Plageman:

We definitely encounter some obstacles in terms of communication and access to resources. You'll see how the Machine is gently nudging Harold Finch and all our guys towards finding ways to lead this insurgency against Samaritan in this new environment.

And from Jonathan Nolan:

"I'm absolutely sure that during the season there will be more opportunities in which subterranean stories may unfold," teases Nolan. "Not a season goes by in which at least one of our writers hasn't pitched a mole people episode. Who knows? We may finally get to that."

Is Agents of SHIELD in any legit danger? It has gotten much, much better since the Cap 2 reveal, but I keep seeing that ratings are falling.
