Is This A New Glossy Black MacBook?

Illustration for article titled Is This A New Glossy Black MacBook?

A reader writes in to tell us about this black MacBook he saw somewhere—we can't say where he saw it since it would get him in some deep doo doo—and says it may be a new revision of the black MacBook series. The standard MB right now is matted and non-reflective, as you can see by these pictures from flickr. This one, however, is glossy and reflective, as you can see from the picture above.

So what is this? A new glossy version of the BlackBook coming tomorrow at WWDC? Or is it just some guy who painted his white MacBook a glossy black color? Or maybe just some guy that's good at photoshop trying to sneak one by us? We'll find out in about 23 hours. Pictures after the jump.

Thanks Tipster!

Amazing, only a company like Apple can inspire headlines about something so trivial as case finishing. Were this any other product, a change of plastic injection type would not only go unnoticed, but it's notation would be laughed at.

I am most definately not a Mac person, but the brand's gravity is so great that the light of objectivity bends around it more often than not. Impressive.
