Is This the New Google Maps?

Google is supposedly working on a redesign of Google Maps that'll kill the all familiar sidebar and replace it with a full screen map. It's a cleaner look that already makes the current constricted layout seem dated.

The unofficial Google System blog reports that in addition with a full screen map, Google will also add a feature that lets you keep search results to places recommended by people in your Google+ circle. You can also see that the map itself looks different too, the yellow roads of old have been replaced with white lines and so on.

There's no word on when this new design of Google Maps will roll out to users but Google I/O is next week. Compare the difference between the supposed new layout vs the current one below. [Unofficial Google System Blog]

So a useless and unused feature, got it! I hate to sound like a bitter commenter who hates on Google, I'm not. I love almost everything they do but Google+ sucks balls.

I have over 300 followers and to be nice, I decided to follow most of them back. I get that damn little RED icon showing me missed things on a daily basis. It annoys me. I don't care what some random guy in Germany is doing, okay? Google Now has even started telling me when random person's birthday is ON MY CELL PHONE.

Google+ is not a social network for people you know. So why the fuck do I care about it, Google? If I wanted to lead a bleak internet existence of haphazard online friendships, I'd have stayed on IRC.
