Long overdue: the mushy "suggested" evacuation now has some force behind it. The Japanese government has declared a 12 mile radius around the crippled Fukushima plant a mandatory evacuation zone—all but emergency workers are banned from entering.

Although residents are now forbidden from entering the area, local mayors have made a temporary exemption for one member of each household—presumably if something vital from home needs to be retrieved. [Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists]

Unless it's your stockpile of money that you hid in the walls instead of putting in a bank, I can't imagine theres too many vital things that you didn't take with you on the first evacuation.
