Friday's Chanel show in Paris featured a giant iMac monitor and keyboard, but it was branded with the fashion house's trademark interlocked Cs. Towering over the runway, the monitor displayed the fabulous proceedings below in sports arena-worthy glory. What Karl Lagerfeld was trying to communicate with this dramatique step into the computer age is a little vague, but it's easy to imagine him thrashing his fan about and barking out keywords like "Future! Fresh! Techno-tastic!"
I'm taking a cue here from a make-up artist's description of the model's looks as featured on Style.Com's video montage of the event: "Cyber meets Bette Davis meets Coco Chanel," just the kind of absurd fashionspeak I never understand but love to hear.
