Kyocera’s Tu-ka S

Kyocera has announced the “Tu-ka S” phone, with jack for features, intended for Japan’s Tu-ka cellular network. And when I say “jack for features,” I mean i—this phone is equipped with no LCD of any sort. Sure, I understand how it’s supposed to be simple, but you can’t even tell what numbers (if any) you’ve already pushed, which would be handy if you had a flagging short term memory as many of our sexy elderly friends do.

Still, the older generation (or those lacking fine motor control) will appreciate the large, easy-to-see buttons. You really can’t get much more simple than this phone without any sort of voice recognition, so I guess we would give this one a bony thumbs up, at least until someone makes the same phone with a proper screen. Besides, who can’t appreciate an 840 hour standby time? That’s 35 days.
