It takes a lot of guts to step on to Apple’s turf, but LG’s new UP3Flat is shoving its way to the head of the line. Like its estranged cousins, the MP3 player has a glossy black finish with touch-sensitive volume buttons. It has a retractable USB connector and will come in sizes ranging from 512MB to 2GB. Battery is rated at 10 hours though pricing and availability is still uncertain. Not a bad alternative to the Shuffle, although keeping that surface smudge-free looks impossible.
