Earlier this week, we showed you Hillary White's amazingly bizarre mashups of pop culture characters with classic paintings. Comic Book Resources just did another one of their fabulous reader-suggested art challenges, with comic book characters in fine art paintings as the theme. Commenters proposed their own cultural mashups and sketch artists from CBR's Comics Should Be Good blog gamely drew them up. There's something ouroboreal about putting superheroes in Lichtenstein paintings, but they're always fun. Head over the CBR to see a Wolverine Van Gogh, a Joker American Gothic, and Power Girl as René Magritte's The Son of Man.
