Look at those abs! And those shining red eyes! The legendary swamp monster known as Lizard Man is back in his home town of Bishopville, South Carolina, and ABC News is on the case.
Over at Doubtful News, Sharon Hill points out the ABC story, which ran the photo above and reports breathlessly:
Sarah, a Sumter woman who says she went to church with a friend Sunday morning, stepped out of the sanctuary to see the Lizard Man running along the tree line.
So she did what anyone else would do — took a picture with her phone.
“My hand to God, I am not making this up,” she wrote in an email to the ABC News 4 newsroom. “So excited!”
And this amazing sighting isn’t the only one from the area. ABC says an unidentified man also took video of the Lizard Man the next day, outside a church near Scape Ore swamp.
The beast has been dubbed the Scape Ore Lizard Man, and locals have been sighting the beast for years. The legend began, as so many cryptozoological tales do, with a hideous roadkill story. Hill notes that it started back in the late 1980s, with reports of a car that smashed into some kind of creature that left fur and terrifying toothmarks behind on the bumper. Later, a man named Chris Davis claimed his car was attacked by a 7-foot-tall “lizard man” with glowing red eyes. All reports were in the Scape Ore swamp region of South Carolina.
This latest sighting, with full color picture, seems the most persuasive yet. I mean, who can argue with evidence?
