There's no dock in the iPhone 3G's box. And the iPhone 3G doesn't fit in the original iPhone's dock. You could pay $29 for a new one. Or you could just make the damn thing fit in the dock you already have. All you need is steady hands, a Dremel and a buffing cloth. Carve, buff, voila. Here are the happy, frugal results:

Any knife will work as well, that stuff is not hard to cut away at. If the plugins are the same (obviously they are) then its a pretty obvious solution.

Good to hear confirmation that the plug itself has not changed at all.

Not that I will ever see an IPhone in the wild to purchase.

I don't really want to give ATT my money for something they can't even give me a delivery date on.
