Not a total surprise after the love the character got in Daredevil, but now it’s official: there will be a Punisher TV show on Netflix.
Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle, with Entertainment Weekly describing his character as one “who brings his own lethal form of justice to Hell’s Kitchen.” Fingers crossed that Punisher goes to other parts of New York in his own series, as that particular section of Manhattan is getting a bit crowded.
Entertainment Weekly also reports that Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will be the showrunner. He’ll be helming the sixth series of the Marvel/Netflix partnership. Here’s the totally not-at-all surprising or revealing teaser image:
