They’re already making big waves in streaming shows thanks to Daredevil and friends on Netflix, but Marvel is bringing a new show to another service: fan favorite teenage superteam the Runaways are getting their own TV show on Hulu.
Deadline broke the news that the Runaways—created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona in 2003 as a group of motley children who all discover that their parents are part of a super villain secret society known as The Pride—would be heading to Hulu as part of a new deal between Marvel Television, ABC, and the streaming service. Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage will both write and produce the show.
There’s not much more detail yet, such as no confirmed makeup of the team—but it’s presumably the six original members Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Molly Hayes, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder, and Gertrude Yorks. No word on when we can expect the show, either, other than it’s finally happening after years of rumors about potential movie and TV projects based on the book. We’ll bring you more on Runaways when we know it.
