Continuing with the Clarion news, we have the “MAX950HD/850HD” navigation systems, both of which Clarion Japan call the “first in the industry” to have touchscreen iPod operation. We already know that’s sort of not true (given Clarion’s announcement of the stateside release of the VRX755VD), but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they mean first for Japan. I will say that the operation looks a little nicer with the MAX950HD/850HD; you have your basic operations, but you can also use playlists, arrange tracks by albums, artists, song names, and search. Furthermore, the unit features a Memory Stick slot, 40GB hard drive, CD/DVD drive, and can perform all functions you’d expect out of such a combination.
