And, really, do you need to know anything else?

If so, here are the details. Production just started on a new show called Ghost Wars, which will air on Syfy in the US and on Netflix internationally later this year. Besides Vincent D’Onofrio and Meatloaf, it stars Kim Coates, Avan Jogia, and Kristin Lehman, and is being run by Simon Barry, who made Continuum and Van Helsing.

The story follows a local loser (Jogia) with psychic powers has to put aside his personal difficulties to save a remote Alaskan town that’s being overwhelmed by mysterious paranormal forces.

“Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases,” said Barry in a press release. “Science, Humanism, Religion and the Paranormal all get a seat at the table.”

Just as long as that includes D’Onofrio and Meatloaf chewing a whole bunch of scenery and fighting ghosts, that sounds good to us.
