Men in Black Isn’t Getting a Sequel, So Now It’s Getting a Remake

Despite the ominous warnings that constantly churning out reboots and sequels might be producing diminishing returns, Sony has boldly announced that they’re rebooting the entire Men in Black trilogy for audiences who may have forgotten the first third movie came out a mere three years ago.

Producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald told The Hollywood Reporter that the reboot is already in development. MacDonald apparently added, “It will be reinvented as a trilogy,” which seems problematic, if only because it was definitely already a trilogy.

I assume this has thrown a wrench in the previously discussed 21 Jump Street/Men in Black crossover, but who knows? After today’s Ridley Scott insanity, nothing Hollywood does seems to make sense anymore.
