The first reviews for the Evil Dead remake dropped this weekend, praising Fede Alvarez‘s movie for getting right to the gore, stripping out the silly and offering heaps of fan service (which wasn’t necessarily a good thing for some reviewers). But apparently this was exactly what the studio wanted to hear.
Alvarez and the film’s producers (Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell) announced at SXSW that the script for Evil Dead 2 is alredy in the works. And they have plans to remake the entire trilogy. Which… we can’t even imagine what a modern day Army of Darkness would look like. Would it be all Games of Thrones-y? Yikes.
The Evil Dead remake opens April 5th, 2013.
