Quick, get your voyeurism in now. There’s a bill before U.S. Congress now that may make it illegal for you to photograph, videotape, or otherwise record people dressing and undressing in locker rooms.
Of course, in Japan – where voyeurism has long been an art onto itself – they’ve been producing camera phones with sounds that go off when the shutter is pressed, to alert the unwary subject. There’s a sense of humor about it – sometimes the noise is a beep, but more often it’s something so very cute, like a little voice saying “Say Cheese!” I don’t know if U.S. companies would be so light-hearted, though. I can imagine AT&T’s coming out with a model that barks, “Warning! Photograph in 3 … 2 … 1!”
