Never Ask the IRIS 9000 iPhone Dock To Lie

Illustration for article titled Never Ask the IRIS 9000 iPhone Dock To Lie

Though cleverly named the IRIS 9000 to dodge any legal trouble with MGM, 2001: A Space Odyssey fans should have no trouble recognizing this HAL 9000 doppleganger that's designed to make using Siri feel a little more sci-fi. But whatever you do, don't ask it to lie or conceal the truth.

The not-quite-a-dock connects to your iOS device over Bluetooth, so it works with both the iPhone 4S and 5 without the need for a lightning adapter. And using an included remote, you can activate Siri from across the room. A built-in extra-sensitive mic picks up your voice from afar, while a speaker ensures you can always hear Siri's response. The best feature, though, is a glowing red eye that flickers along with her response, but fortunately can't read lips.

The dock is a ThinkGeek exclusive that can also be used as an amplified speakerphone, which is probably the best way to convince your office manager to shell out $60 for one. Does anyone else now have Bicycle Built For Two stuck in their heads? [ThinkGeek]

This, if it had the ability to charge: huge win; without ability to charge: fail (at $60).
