Turned out to be completely untrue, but last week a Japanese newspaper reported that Nikon was planning to kill their line of 35mm compact cameras and go entirely digital. Though you gotta wonder how long it’ll be until one of the big manufacturers does decide to exit the consumer 35mm camera business entirely. Can’t be more than a year or two.
