Nintendo Gameboy Games Ask You to Sit and Spin

In all the clamor about new game systems yesterday, it seems this gem from Nintendo was somehow passed up. “Mawaru Made in Wario” is a collection of minigames for the Gameboy Advance on a single cartridge that contains a rotation sensor. As you can imagine, Nintendo has thought of all sorts of crazy ideas for how to implement this into various games, such as what appears to be a race to clean a dirty plate of food. Judging by some safety documentation, Nintendo requests that you rotate the Gameboy instead of yourself.

Since the official site is about as informative as a sheet of plywood, I can’t say exactly how many minigames are available for play. But a few things are clear: it’s only one-player, the sole objective of the game is to unlock 100+ “Gachakoron” prizes, and I’d be very suprised if this ever saw the light of day in a country other than Japan. If you gather that there are 100+ minigames because of this, by all means, gather.

This actually reminds me of that Pokemon game with a similar gimmick, but the name slips my mind right now. Expect to see “Mawaru Made in Wario” hit Japanese shelves October 14th for 4,800 yen. (Made in Wario was released here as Gizmodo favorite Wario Ware. It did not have a motion sensor, though, but I think it was Pokemon Pinball that did. We do know about Wario Ware, promise.)
