Tobey here, in sunny Barcelona, checking out the Nokia par-tay on the new N-Gage “arena”. Yes, that’s right, the N-Gage is still around.
It looks like the big message here is expansion. Working with IDEO design, the Finnish company is hoping it’s next-gen platform interface will be more than stunning and easy to use. So no, they’re not showing us new N-Gage hardware (saying that they’d rather focus on software, using other people’e hardware), but announcing its big expansion into the Java base as well as other mobile devices (mainly smartphones). N-Gage will be focusing on Series 60 phones (for N-Gage Arena games) while partner Snap Mobile will be working on Java.
Long way to go for expansionist dreams, but I’m not complaining.
