NTT DoCoMo and Sumitomo Mitsui, the world’s 4th largest financial institution, have gotten together to introduce a new kind of credit card. We’ve talked about “FeliCa” contactless IC before, and this is yet another application of it — according to the sketches in the press release, you’ll use your phone as though it were the credit card itself. It sounds hot, but DoCoMo will obviously need to take some security measures to be sure consumers are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
