Sony, you're such a tease. The PlayStation motion controller wand won't hit shops until next Spring, but SCEA research head honcho, Richard Marks, gives a pretty interesting look at its background and capabilities in this video.


Hearing how the technology works is cool and all, but what caught my attention was that it'll have rumble feedback, buttons, and an analog trigger. I'm looking forward to seeing how games use it at the Tokyo Game Show on September 24. [Sony]



I guess the real question is "why?". Motion controllers are pretty bad for almost any game that isn't Wii Sports. The tracking errors and jitter make them all but useless for anything that requires precision and holy heck - have you tried playing call of duty on a Wii using the wiimote? It's impossible.
