One of television’s forgotten gems is the 1960s German space opera Raumpatroullie, in which our intrepid team explores the universe, makes bad jokes about women, and visits malls where people do really weird dances.

Maybe this dance doesn’t quite trump the Buck Rogers futuristic rollerdisco dance, but I give it points for bizarro-world flair.

Raumpatrouille also boasted some pretty awesome special effects, such as this test of the “Overkill” planet-destroying weapon:

And then there was this amazing test of a super-advanced robot who gets dangerous after his engineer induces a neurosis. Sounds like some German TV writer had been reading I, Robot and getting a little goofy with it.

Thanks, Mr. Area!
