PS3 Vs Eye Chart: Menu Hard To Read on Small HDTVs

The PS3's menu fonts are almost impossible to read from more than 6 feet away on a 37-inch LCD running at 1080p. Most 1080p displays are larger, and most people who can afford this console at $600 bucks will have a large TV. But I think that most kids and lower end gamers who are traditional Playstation owners will have a hard time affording a bigger HDTV, yet will want to run in HD. Who wouldn't?

Either way, the fonts are too small.

BTW, I am not an eye doctor, and the comparison to the Snellen eye chart aren't literal or scientific measurements. It's a joke.

This is one of those "snap out of it" moments. It's where if you bought a 37" TV and want it to look great at 1080 mode, you're just up a creek and have to deal with small fonts.

The TV is too small, it is, it's too tiny, too teeny weeny to expect miracles. If you're in an RV or boat and have to have that size screen them your sitting close enough to read it anyway.

How many people buy a 37" HD TV when they can have a 54" projection with the same resolution for the same price? Stop pandering to the few in Manhatten apartment or on board a boat or RV and happen to have a TV this size.

Stop the madness or I'll order my lvl 46 attack dog Snickerfang on you and you wouldn't like that, it wouldn't be pretty. BTW if you don't play WOW just ignore that last part...
