The controversial "badger cull" in England has begun. And Queen's Brian May is one animal lover who isn't too happy about the country's plan to protect cows by killing badgers, who carry deadly bovine tuberculosis. May remixed some Queen songs, wrote new badger-friendly lyrics, and is burning up the iTunes charts.

"Save the Badger Badger Badger" was a number one rock download on iTunes earlier today.

According to the Guardian, farmer industry groups are supporting the cull as a way of saving tens of thousands of cow lives. Wild badgers in Gloucestershire and Somerset will be shot with rifles, to prevent the spread of TB. A lively protest movement has sprung up to protect the furry creatures, and May's song will benefit one such group, TeamBadger.org
