Whatever Rupert Murdoch's got planned for The Daily can wait; fellow billionaire Richard Branson has beaten him to the iPad-only publication punch with Project. The tablet magazine reportedly launches tomorrow, promising some sweet Tron-pegged Jeff Bridges action. UPDATED:
It'll be exciting to see just what a magazine built from the ground up for the iPad can accomplish, rather than titles that have fumbled—to varying degrees—in the process of translating dead tree content into a tablet experience. Leading the charge in the inaugural issue: that Bridges profile, a 205mph "supercar," the search for Earth 2.0, and other stuff that just seems, well, cool.
Murdoch's Daily, on the other hand, is rumored to be launching December 9th with more of a traditional news focus.
No details yet on pricing, or how the interface will work, but the app is expected to be live tomorrow morning in the iTunes store here.
UPDATE: Looks like you can get a sneak peek at Project's blog here. [9 to 5 Mac; Thanks, Camillo!]
