[ED: Google's had the Sidekick team for quite some time, says this August 2005 article in BusinessWeek. Thanks Andrew K.]So the latest GPhone rumor has the boys in California hiring T-Mobile's Danger's Sidekick team to work on the alleged GPhone. Word has it they've also been courting a few mobile operators (whether it's for software or hardware reasons isn't sure). All of this fuels the GPhone rumors if not for the fact that Google Southeast Asia just denied any existence of the GPhone. Managing director of sales and operations, Richard Kimbler, said....
"At this point in time, we are very focused on the software, not the phone."
The really optimistic might think that gives some credibility to this GPhone rumor, but one thing's for sure, it definitely contradicts what Isabel Aguilera said earlier. As for me, I won't believe a word anyone says until someone from the mothership talks.
