According to a Boy Genius Report’s “solid source”, there’s a new Apple iPhone in the last stage before retail release, which consist on an “AP” field test with final hardware and almost-final software. They claim it’s model 3,2, which most people think is the Verizon iPhone, but it has a SIM card slot.

BGR believes that this could mean that it’s a dual CDMA/GSM model, which support to Verizon, AT&T and everyone else worldwide. They also think that the SIM could be there just for global roaming. The third possibility is that iPhone 3,2 is just an updated model that includes a fix to the dreaded antenna design problem. [BGR]
