As you read this, Universal is hard at work creating their own, Marvel-style shared universe. It won’t be filled with superheroes, though—it’ll be filled with monsters. Three linked Universal Monsters movies are currently on the schedule and now, one of them may star Oscar-winner Russell Crowe.

According to Deadline, Crowe is in talks to play a “Jekyll-like role” in The Mummy film that is currently shooting. That film stars Tom Cruise as a soldier on the hunt for the monster, played by Sofia Boutella. Crowe’s role won’t be more than a cameo, but it may lead to a larger role moving ahead.

Beyond the Cruise movie, which is scheduled to be released on June 9, 2017, there are untitled films coming on April 13, 2018, and February 15, 2019. One of those may be The Invisible Man starring Johnny Depp. The Bride of Frankenstein starring Angelina Jolie has also been an unconfirmed rumor. Now we can add a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde movie starring Russell Crowe to the pile of possibilities.
