SanDisk 802.11b SD expansion card still isn’t ready to be used with Palm handhelds, and rather than leave everyone in the dark about why the drivers aren’t available, they’ve sent out an email explaning what’s going on. They say they’re on track to release the drivers by the first quarter of next year, but that there’s also some bad news: they aren’t making drivers for handhelds running Palm OS 4.1 (it’s just too tricky), they still have some legal stuff to sort out with PalmSource, and even once they’ve got the drivers sorted out, the card could possibly damage devices like the Treo 600 and so shouldn’t be used with them.
