CNET is reporting that Verizon is set to release two 4G Android tablets before the end of the year. They're the Motorola Xoom 2 tablets we heard about but re-branded as Verizon Droid Xyboard tablets.

As expected, there will be two models of the Xyboard (could they have come up with a weirder name?): a 10-inch version and a smaller 8-inch one. The design of the Xyboard is thinner than the original Xoom and more in line with the Droid RAZR (sharper edges, more dramatic lines and what not). They both run Android 3.0 Honeycomb through a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Price isn't set yet but according to CNET, the Droid Xyboard tablets are expected to release before the end of the year. [CNET]
