Sharp Internet Aquos

Sharp takes an Aquos LCD TV and bundles it with a PC, resulting in the LD-37SP1 and PC-AX50M Internet Aquos. These are 32- or 37-inch LCD TVs with a resolution of 1366×768 and 6ms response time, and there’s a 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo 2300 processor with a 500GB SATA disk in that vertically-oriented case alongside. Sharp includes a remote control and wireless keyboard, and there you have it—a middle-of-the-road home theater PC.

In the Japanese models shown so far, there’s a Hi-Vision HD tuner for Japanese users, and the thing is loaded with XP Home, but it’s supposedly “Vista-ready” even though it has a rather lame Intel graphics card. Now if this thing had CableCard compatibility and some sort of HD DVD or Blu-ray disk player inside, you’d have our attention. No pricing was available yet, but it better be cheap, since this system is not exactly state-of-the-art.
